Travel inside Austria
Austrian Airlines, Tyrolean Airways, Austrian State Railway Company (Österreicische Bundesbahnen GmbH) and Bundesbus maintain the modern transport network of Austria.
Plane: Austrian Airlines, and Tyrolean Airways have several flights a day between main cities of Austria.
Car: Roads, highways, mountain roads are good and well-maintained in Austria. There are several rent-a-car companies in the bigger cities.
Bus: The Bundesbus (federal bus) network supplements the rail service, and is used for local trips instead of long distance travel. Some ski resorts can only be reached by Bundesbus.
Train: Railway is a rapid, efficient and comfortable way of traveling in Austria. Trains are very frequent in Austria.
Bicycle: We can rent bike from rental shops in the main cities. Separate bike tracks are common and the Danube cycling trail runs from the Black Forest in Germany to Vienna.
Funicular: Mountain transport falls into five main categories: funicular (Standseilbahn), cable car (Luftseilbahn), gondola (Gondelbahn), cable chair (Sesselbahn) and ski lift (Schlepplift).
